호주에서 법적으로 혼자 학교 다닐 수 있는 나이

호주에서는 어린이 혼자 집에 두어서도 안되고 길에 혼자 다녀서도 안된다고...

누가 경찰에 신고하면 잡혀간다고...

너무나 많이 들리는? 말인데...

그럼 도대체 법적으로 몇 살 부터 혼자 집에 있을 수 있고, 혼자 학교에 갈 수 있을까?

너무 궁금해서 구글링 중 찾은 기사 내용에 따르면,

퀸즈랜즈 주만 12살 미만은 혼자 두지 말라는 명시가 되어 있고, 다른 주는... 구체적인 나이가 명시되어 있지 않다...

흠...

기사 내용을 보면 11살 이라도 학교가 집에서 가까우면 혼자 다녀도 된다는 의견도 있고... 12살 아래는 정말 케이스바이케이스?

적어도 10살 까지는 혼자 집에 두는 시간과 혼자 학교 다니는 거리등을 최소한 해야 할 꺼 같다.

ㅎㅎㅎ 10살 까지는 꼭 학교에 데려다 주고... 11살부터는 가까운 거리 혼자 다닐 수 있게 해줘야겠다...

Queensland is the only state that specifies that a child must not be left alone if they are under the age of 12.

The Queensland Criminal Code, section 364a, under the title “Leaving a child under 12 unattended,” stipulates “that a person who, having the lawful care of a child under 12 years, leaves the child for an unreasonable time without making reasonable provision for the supervision and care of the child during that time, commits a misdemeanour.”

If found guilty of breaking this law, the punishment carries a maximum penalty of three years’ imprisonment.

IN OTHER STATES (ACT/NSW/WA/VIC/SA/TAS/NT)

The laws in other states don’t expressly state an age that is appropriate to leave your child alone, but they do clearly state that parents are expected to provide their children with adequate safety and supervision and must act.

What does the law actually say?

You'll find it in the Queensland Criminal Code, section 364a, under the title "Leaving a child under 12 unattended":

1. A person who, having the lawful care or charge of a child under 12 years, leaves the child for an unreasonable time without making reasonable provision for the supervision and care of the child during that time commits a misdemeanour. Maximum penalty - 3 years' imprisonment.

2. Whether the time is unreasonable depends on all the relevant circumstances.
